Last year we knew the Lord wanted us to start a ministry, but we didn’t know where to start. All we knew was that we were experiencing a growing intimacy with Him, and we could not resist this amazing love and fellowship that seemed to be increasing by the minute. Jesus literally became our anchor, our foundation, our hope, our peace, our joy, the greatest love in our lives, our everything….Amen!
And then we felt He was asking us to put on a Christmas production…with less than 2 months to work with…in Trinidad (this wonderful little island in the West Indies where my husband is originally from) where we had just moved to a little over a year previous…and to top it all, we had no money to do this. Just to recap we had no budget, no script, no venue, no professionals, no cast, no crew; just a few willing hearts, and a theme: “Beautiful Things”.
We decided to follow this prompting and let the Lord guide us. After all, we knew we serve the God of the impossible! Before we knew it, we had an original script entirely inspired by the Holy Spirit, we had enough of a cast to get started, we had a musician/sound guy and we had a venue. The Lord had gone before us and made a way for us. This adventure culminated in an awesome God-inspired Christmas production that ministered to each of and every person involved. We came to understand a very important concept in this walk with Christ: if you want God to make something beautiful out of your life, you have to trust Him with your whole heart and take that step in faith. You see, we started off with nothing but a directive from the Lord, we decided to follow Him and obey, and He took care of the rest. We also realized that though the final production was great (at least in our eyes it was), the journey was even greater. It was an amazing unexpected blessing – we had a front row seat to watch God work miracles in our lives and in the lives of those around us!
That first production has turned into a program. We now have the honor and privilege to regularly produce “Beautiful Things”. These productions typically include singing, dancing, acting, testimonies….all for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to connect people to Him. It’s all about Him, and He alone deserves the glory. In this section of “The Move” we are eager to share with you everything the Lord is doing through this “Beautiful Things” program, that you may be inspired to go out and let Him lead you as well.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with
Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been
saved.~Ephesians 2:4-5
